Weeks of November 11-22> Sight Word Review Week: ESGI sight word and Listening Comprehension assessments will be done during these weeks. Please be sure that if your child is not sick they are present at school for these assessments.
Friday, November 22> Kindergarten and First Grade Thanksgiving Prayer Service starting at 2:00 in the church. Please wear their regular school uniform.
Thanksgiving break: Monday, November 25th-Friday November 29th. Students return to school on Monday, December 2nd.

Week of December 13th> Quick Check and Homework Folder DUE
Week of December 16th>Review Week: Report Card, ESGI sight word and Listening Comprehension assessments being done this week. Please be sure that if your child is not sick they are present at school for these assessments.
Schedule of Specials:
Tuesday and Thursday (PE): children wear PE short and shirt with approved tennis shoes and plain white socks. Light-Up shoes and socks with color/emblems are not allowed.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday (Spanish, music, guidance): children wear regular uniforms (no PE). Approved shoes and navy socks are required. Tennis shoes are not to be worn on these days. Belts are required if there are belt loops. Hair accessories are limited to the colors found in the uniform.

Topic: Needs VS Wants
Look for their Weekly Emergent Readers to go home on Fridays. I encourage you to save these weekly emergent reader books in a special place: a treasure box or special basket. Whenever they want to pull out a story to read to you, they can select a story from their special story box.

Writing: characters continued and setting; narrative writing
Sight Words: Review of all 12 sight words: continue to review all past sight words and get a jump-start on the December words
Math Block: order numbers 0-10; identify days of the week and sequence of events that happen during the week; identify and count with pennies; identify time to the hour; introduce a new material: the balance and geoboards
