Word Study:   Letter Ee review (long and short sounds);  Proper Nouns:  days of the week and months of the year

Friday, March 13:  Field Day (on field at 8:30 am);  Half-Day 12:00 dismissal

Spring Break is from March 14-March 22.  Return to school on Monday, March 23. 

Schedule of Specials: 

Tuesday and Thursday (PE): children wear PE short and shirt with approved tennis shoes and plain white socks.  Light-Up shoes and socks with color/emblems are not allowed.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday (Spanish, music, guidance):   children wear regular uniforms (no PE).  Approved shoes and navy socks are required.  Tennis shoes are not to be worn on these days.  Belts are required if there are belt loops.  Hair accessories are limited to the colors found in the uniform.Image result for weather clip art

Look for their Weekly Emergent Readers to go home on Fridays.  I encourage you to save these weekly emergent reader books in a special place:  a treasure box or special basket.  Whenever they want to pull out a story to read to you, they can select a story from their special story box.

Reading Block:    Capitalization & Punctuation; Blending; Writing a Complete Sentence; identifying middle sounds

Word Study:   Letter Xx and Jj review; blend and segment sounds, substitute phonemes

Writing:  Completing Sentences; Narrative Writing:  making lists

Math Block:  Writing to 75 Assessment; sort and identify tangram pieces, identify small, medium and large shapes, and cover designs using tangram;measure length using nonstandard units, estimate and measure length and width using nonstandard units;graph a picture on a pictograph;cover designs using tangrams and explore slides, turns, and flips.

Science/Social Studies/Art:  Continuation of our 4-6 week USA Unit of Study; Weather
